Moving Out Of The Darkness – Time

Time will continue to move forward. Seconds become minutes, minutes become hours, and hours turn into days. No matter what we do—or don’t do—time keeps going.

Right now, you are facing a pain so deep that you can barely understand how you are still standing. Some moments feel impossible. You may struggle to breathe, to get up, or to even care about the day ahead. That is okay.

Let time do its work. Time will allow you to tap into an unrealized faith (ability) that you never knew you had. You are stronger then you think.

Your only job right now is to keep living in whatever way you can. If you need to cry, cry. If you need to yell or sit in silence, do that. If you need to stay in bed, stay. If all you can do is exist, then exist. Give yourself grace. You are walking through one of the hardest moments of your life, and it will take time before you feel again—before you can think clearly, find your footing, smile, and begin becoming a new version of yourself. It may not feel like you are making progress but you are.

The truth is, as a result of this pain, you will not be the same. A part of you has shifted, changed, or gone quiet. You may not believe what you once believed. That person you thought you were may not exist. As a result of the loss you may have to become a person you never knew you could be. Before he left you did not think you could change a tire but look at you now. Pain and hardship changes us. Your mother used to cook all of the cakes but here you are, cooking them just like she taught you.

Time will comfort you, even though it hurts.  Time will allow you to be angry, to cry, to grieve. Time will soften the edges of this pain with each day, each month and each year. It will carry you forward even when you cannot move yourself.

Lean into it. Let time gently lead you where your heart cannot yet go. Time may not heal all wounds but it will provide you with the strength needed to keep going. (IGBATTMHO.ORG)
